Oracle9iAS Discoverer is an intuitive ad hoc query, reporting, analysis, and Web publishing tool, which is tightly integrated with Oracle Applications. Using Discoverer, business users at all levels of the organization can gain immediate access to information from data marts, data warehouses, clickstream data, and online transaction processing (OLTP) systems. Oracle9iAS Discoverer is available in two types of client: Discoverer Plus and Discoverer Viewer. Discoverer Plus runs as a Java applet and features user-defined queries and reports, whereas Discover Viewer runs in a browser and provides casual users with access to pre-defined queries and drill-down reports. The single metadata repository in Discoverer enables users to access the same metadata and share reports regardless of client type.
