Brief Curriculum Vitae
Alexander Kocian received the Dipl. Ing. degree in Electrical Engineering with majors in Telecommunications from the Vienna University of Technology, Austria in 1997 and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Aalborg University, Denmark, in 2003.Doctoral dissertation: "EM based joint data detection and channel estimation of DS/CDMA signals" (Advisor: Prof. Dr. Bernard H. Fleury).
He is currently Assistant Professor with the Department of Computer Science, University of Pisa, Italy, working on numerous projects funded by the Tuscany and Liguria Regions in Italy, the European Space agency, and the Italian National Research Council. He has co-authored dozens peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, and he has been member of numerous program committees of international conferences. He holds 4 patents.
Dr. Kocian is IEEE Senior Member and EAI fellow. He is currently General Chair of the EAI Int. Conf. Intelligent Transport Systems (INTSYS) 2024. He also serves as member of Editorial Board for Stats (MDPI), Signals (MDPI) and Artificial Intelligence and Applications (Bon View Publishing).
