Introduction to Oracle9iAS Applications Oracle9i Application Server (Oracle9iAS) provides a fully integrated platform for all of your Internet applications, regardless of the language in which they were developed. Oracle HTTP Server is based on the industry-standard Apache Web server, but with additional and enhanced modules. Oracle9iAS is J2EE 1.2 certified with significant J2EE 1.3 support. Oracle9iAS provides comprehensive support for for JSPs, Servlets, and EJBs. Clustering allows for the creation of multiple Oracle9iAS instances that coordinate their actions, transparently providing scalable, highly available services. Developers can use the BC4J (Business Components for Java) framework to author and test reusable business logic in components that automatically integrate with databases. The Oracle XML Developer Kits contain XML component libraries and utilities for Java, JavaBeans, PL/SQL, C, and C++ for XML enabling applications and Web sites. Oracle Forms developers can deploy Forms on the Web quickly by using Oracle9iAS Forms Services. PL/SQL developers can also become Web developers quickly by using PL/SQL Server Pages (PSPs) to generate dynamic HTML pages.
