This figure shows the execution phases for a request in the HTTP server, over time. The user submits a request, the user receives a response, and if the KeepAlive directive is on and clients use it, the duration of a connection may be much longer than the time required to perform a request and return a response. This is because the connection may remain open while a single client submits multiple requests.
