Short bio

I am an Associate Professor at the Computer Science Department, University of Pisa, Italy. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Pisa in 2006 (summa cum laude) and a Master's Degree from the same University in 2008 (summa cum laude). I got my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Pisa in 2012 with a thesis on control-theoretic predictive strategies for autonomic parallel computations, supervised by Prof. Marco Vanneschi. From 2012 to 2014 I was a Research Fellow (Assegnista di Ricerca). From October 2014 to June 2018 I was an Assistant Professor (RTD-A, without tenure track) at the University of Pisa, and in 2018 I won a tenure track position (RTD-B). Since July 2021, I have been an Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department.
My research interests focus on understanding, designing, and evaluating parallel systems at any level, from parallel architectures and their technological evolution to parallel applications and their enabling frameworks and runtime supports. Some of my research topics are Parallel Programming, Parallel Architectures, Self-* Systems and Applications, and Data Stream Processing.
I am author/co-author of 34 journal papers, 44 conference and workshop papers, 3 chapters appearing in handbooks, and 1 book.
