This is a text description of porsecar.gif, which shows the security architecture for Oracle9iAS Portal. From top to bottom of the graphic, the icons and labels are arranged as follows: At the top of the graphic is a server that is labeled Oracle9iAS. This Oracle9iAS server has Oracle9iAS Web Cache, the Portal Page Engine (a servlet), mod_plsql, mod_osso, and the Directory Administration Service. Below and to the left of the Oracle9iAS server is the Oracle9iAS Portal Repository. To the right of the repository and below the Oracle9iAS server is an Oracle9iAS Single Sign-On server. Both the repository and the Single Sign-On server have two-way communication with Oracle9iAS server. At the bottom of the graphic is the Oracle Internet Directory server and the Directory Integration server. On these two directory servers are where the User Accounts, User Profiles, Groups, and Configuration Information for Oracle9iAS Portal are stored. The two directory servers have two-way communication with the Oracle9iAS Repository and the Oracle9iAS Single Sign-On server. Just to the right of the directory servers another external repository is situated. This external repository can be synchronized with Oracle Internet Directory, if you decide to use another LDAP directory's data.
