This is a text description of dipsynch.gif, which shows how the Oracle Directory Integration server synchronizes user and group changes with all components that use the directory. This graphic is explained in the text that follows the graphic. In brief, the graphic shows four entities: Oracle Internet Directory server, Directory Integration server, Provisioned Applications, and Connected Directories. The Oracle Internet Directory server contains three components: Provisioning Profiles, ChangeLog, and Synchronization Profiles. When changes occur the directory component, Provisioning Profiles, communicates the provisioning changes to the Directory Integration server component called Provisioning Integration Service. In turn, the Provisioning Integration Service communicates those provisioning changes to the Provisioned Applications. In a similar manner, the Synchronization Profiles component of the Oracle Internet Directory server communicates synchronization information to the Directory Synchronization Service of the Directory Integration server. These changes (synchronization information) are in turn sent to the Connected Directories to ensure that they are synchronized with Oracle Internet Directory.
