Conclusions
Important assumptions:
we know significant benchmark characteristics for relevant services;
internal QoS is better than external;
Summarizing some critical consequences:
the Network Monitoring topology depends on network
performance. In fact if the basic assumption -- internal QoS is better
than external -- fails, the characteristics collected by
Theodolites is not valid data for brokers;
internal connectivity of Domains should be
monitored (not necessarily published), in order to detect the
occurrence of performance problems.
Degrees of freedom in the choice of the
Connectivity characteristic:
it is not necessarily a distance (triangular inequality etc.);
it may be a-dimensional (dB);
it may be not relevant for applications, and possibly
unpublished.
